What is on the paper, and why

40 CFR 82.161(a)(1)(iv) defines Universal as covering Types I, II and III together, and 82.161(c) requires at least 25 questions from the Core group and at least 25 from EACH relevant technical group. Universal therefore draws all four groups at 25 each, weighted 1:1:1:1, exactly as stated.

Questions people ask

Is this the real EPA 608 Universal exam?

No. These are practice questions written to the requirements of 40 CFR Part 82. The real exam is administered by an EPA-approved certifying organization, and no vendor, including us, has access to their actual item bank.

Does passing this certify me?

No. EPA Section 608 certification requires passing a proctored exam through an EPA-approved certifying organization. This is preparation for that exam, not a substitute for it or a certification in itself.

How much can I practise before questions repeat?

1 complete papers of 100 questions each, drawn from 140 questions, before you see anything twice.

Do I need to pay or sign up?

You can start practicing and sit your first full paper without an account. Signing in is what lets us save your answers and track readiness by topic over time. Unlimited full papers, plus review, history, the exam plan and flashcards, are part of Practice Test Pro ($19.99/month or $143.93/year).

What is a passing score?

EPA-approved certifying organizations commonly require 70% on the Core section and 70% on each Type section to pass. Confirm the exact figure with whichever organization you sit the real exam with, since it can vary.
